I Need To Lose Weight!

I need to lose weight. Yes, me and half of America are in the same shoes. We all look in the mirror and say, “I need to lose weight.” If so many of us are in the same boat, why do we feel so bad about being overweight? I mean we are in the norm. Maybe there was only one or two overweight kids in our first grade class, but there are a lot more of us now that we are older. So why are we so freaked out? Why can’t we just chill out, accept ourselves, and be happy?

First, I blame fashion. If you ever go shopping for plus size clothes, then you know they are horrible. They are designed to make you look and feel like a big blob. I don’t want to spend my whole life looking like I am wearing maternity clothes.

Second, when you are overweight, you don’t feel real good. You can’t stand for long periods of time. Gravity really pulls hard when there is so much of you. You know you need to exercise to get rid of the weight. But you are so out of shape because of the load you are carrying. Can anyone relate?

That is two of the main reasons I end up saying, “I need to lose weight.” But even though those two facts make me feel fat, they also serve as my motivation. It is my goal to lose my extra weight so that I will feel healthier and look better in some really sassy clothes.

I know I need to lose weight. Ever since I gave birth to my two children, I have never been able to lose all the weight I gained at that time. But I’m always working toward my goal. And I have made significant progress. I may never regain the figure of my youth. But if I keep working at it, I will reach an acceptable weight where I can look and feel good.

It takes some people longer than others to reach that “I need to lose weight” moment. And it’s not an easy battle to fight the fat. But if we take it slow and steady and don’t give up, one day we will not have to say “I need to lose weight” anymore.
